If you’re the owner of a business, large or small, you probably take time each year to pay tribute to customers or clients who are a valuable part of your business. Many business owners choose the December holidays to send their clients some sort of token of thanks. Some opt only to send greeting cards but, despite tough economic times, plenty of businesses continue with their tradition of sending tangible gifts to their best customers.

Because a business’s customer base is usually quite varied, it’s often difficult to decide what gift is best. Holiday thank you gifts, in general, should have two goals: they should put the business name in front of the client where they’ll see it on a regular basis and the gift should also be useful. So what should you choose? First, try to find an item that relates to your business. If, for example, you’re an IT company, choose a mouse pad or some other desktop accessory. If you’re a travel company with corporate clients, send tote or duffel bags to your best customers.

However, if you can’t locate a relatable personalized item, choose one that will be useful to most clients, including business card cases, key rings, mugs, or even wine accessories. Be conscious of whether your clients are male or female and order accordingly.
